Santiago Kodela is an Argentinian classical guitarist and composer working in the areas of concert, solo, chamber, and choral music. His works explore the ethereal aspects of sound and harmony, examining intensely the areas of iso-rhythms, metric modulation, and chord harmonization. He creates ever-so-slight variations of pre-defined rhythmic cells through harmony, melody, and rhythm, preventing the listener from anticipating the music yet retaining engagement throughout. A recipient of the Gaiety Bursary (Royal Irish Academy of Music) in 2016, his works combine elements of both classical and contemporary eras aiming to create unique and tantalising musical colours.
In 2018, Kodela completed a master’s degree in Music and Media Technologies (Trinity College Dublin) where he specialized in Audio Production and Contemporary Music Composition. Under the guidance of renowned composer Dr. Ann Cleare, he composed, performed, and produced works which have been released internationally via Navona Records (2019) and have received extensive positive reviews worldwide.
Current endeavors include the release of chamber music and production of solo classical guitar works, the latter being composed and performed by himself. In addition to performing, Kodela continues to work and craft his passion for choral music by focusing on the composition and production of new essays and pieces.
