Brian Tracey is a recent graduate of the Master of Music program in clarinet performance at Peabody Conservatory. He has been playing an instrument since the age of 8 when his grandfather started teaching him piano, and started playing the clarinet in elementary school. Brian currently serves as principal clarinet for the Berks Opera Company orchestra in Reading, PA, and is a founding member and clarinetist with the Maryland Wind Festival in Frederick, MD. An avid performer of new and contemporary music, Brian is particularly interested in bringing new music to the forefront of the classical music world; engaging younger audiences, programming contemporary works more regularly, and working directly with living composers are his favorite parts of being a musician. When Brian isn’t performing, you can find him kayaking, working in his wood shop, or tinkering with computers.
