Teng Chen is a freelance audio engineer, audio producer, low-voltage system designer, and acoustical consultant located in Baltimore, Maryland.


Throughout her career as a recording, mixing and live sound engineer, Teng has, and continues to work with ensembles and across many diverse styles of music, from classical to new music and jazz. Teng has worked with musicians such as Yo-Yo Ma, Emanuel Ax, Joshua Bell, Jeremy Denk, Vijay Iyer, and Billy Hart. She is currently one of the lead recording engineers of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Teng spent past summers as an audio engineer at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity (Alberta, Canada), Spoleto Festival USA (Charleston, SC), the Brevard Music Center (Brevard, NC), and the Tanglewood Music Center, where she worked closely with the Boston Symphony Orchestra as a recording and live sound engineer.

 
As a low-voltage system designer and acoustical consultant, her work appears on the designs of facilities such as National Institutes of Health, MGM Casino and Resorts, and the Johns Hopkins University.

 
​Teng graduated from the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University with dual Bachelor of Music degrees in Piano Performance and Recording Arts and Sciences, as well as a master’s degree in Audio Sciences with a concentration in Acoustical Studies.
